yes! prime lens actually teach u to be more hardworking cos u had to use different angles sometimes even prone down to get the shot u want.
i think zoom lens somehow make u lazy cos u just move left and right, up and down, zoom in zoom out, dun even need to walk closer or further away from the subject, hence u might lose some angles as a result.
In terms of angle lost, i feel primes lose more angle. Their fov is fixed but for zooms u hav a range.
For some, it makes them lazy, but it s not lazy carrying a larger n heavier lens.
For some then do not wanna walk front n back, but there r ppl who still set the zoom lenght n then move front n back to frame. It s about how much u wanna include in the photo.
I personally use a prime lens for walkabout but sometimes i do wish i brought my zoom.
the photographic moments is only seconds n the zoom n fast AF of the 1ds3 can make a diff between gettin the shot or getting a blank.
