Walk around lens on FF

For me now is the 12-24, waiting for version II to be avail in stores here.

Used to be 24-105 until I sold it. Now its 35 f/1.4 :)

One more 24-105 and 35mm f/2

I had a 28-135 as my kit lens for 40D.... It was useless in a cropped body and I kept that for a FF. When I got FF, I tried 28-135 few days and realised that a FF deserves something much better than 28-135. 24-105 is perfectly nice, except limiting f/4.

24-70L with the 35L in the bag.

Walk around? Sigma 50 1.4

i'd say 35mm if you like up close and personal, and 85 if you like a little more distance.

I use both the 24-105 and 50 1.4.
It work well for me so far

For those carrying fixed length lenses, do you find that limiting? Or do you find that you keep having to switch focal lengths (eg 24 -> 85 -> 135)?

Contax N 24-85 is my walkabout zoom. My walkaround prime would be TS-E 24.

It is quite liberating actually as you are forced to be energetic; you don't think about changing lenses, you keep thinking about changing your position. But that's just me.

24-105mm or Sigma 50 f1.4 is ideal for me.

yes! prime lens actually teach u to be more hardworking cos u had to use different angles sometimes even prone down to get the shot u want.

i think zoom lens somehow make u lazy cos u just move left and right, up and down, zoom in zoom out, dun even need to walk closer or further away from the subject, hence u might lose some angles as a result.

35/2 on the 5D. sometimes rokkor 58/1.2 also.

 rokkor 58/1.2 on 5D produces such an awesome bokeh. The only thing about it is that you have to focus manually.

Why should it be limiting? When I shoot with the 28, its usually quite up close and personal. Switching to the 85 means some distance from the subject and the 150 even further. Very simple really.

The good thing about fast primes, is when you shoot wide open, the cam focuses very fast and you can go burst shooting and change angles quickly.
