i thought I would start a new thread as this may affect quite a few people.

I upgraded my 8360 today to the new firmware and was quite happy with the new screen setting. Problems surfaced when I tried to download my sandisk 2 GB ultra 2, it initially said that the partition could not be found. tried to reload firmware, reset etc. It still couldn't read.

I called eastgear and they recommended formating it. did that and still couldn't read my sandisk. Then tried my old Lexar card and it worked! Mind you my sandisk cards worked with the old firmware.

The issue is this, there is no "downgrade" firmware yet so if anyone uses Sandisk, do not upgrade!!

Which was why I asked in the other thread - is there a way to backup and restore the old firmware if there's any problems.

my sandisk extreme 2gb no problems, only problem with lexar 2gb, but after formatting, is able to backup the card fully.

still in testing stage. :)
do update here...

Hi Ivanyc

Have you solve your problems to restore the old firmware?

I have bought my VP8360 from SLS (IT Image) When I bought the device from them they help me to upgrade to the latest firmware. And I remember they have the file for the old firmware. :dunno: :dunno: wheather they can help you to restore the old firmware cos u did not bought the device from them, but I think you can call them to help.

Hi,

Vosonic replied that there isn't any problem with the SanDisk Ultra II CF card and the firmware of the VP8360.
