Can't decide between a Voigtlander 35mm or 40mm on a Panny Girl Friend One (GF1).

Have rule out the Voigtlander 35mm F1.2 becos' of the size and half a kilo weight ... 8-) but very fast lens at F1.2 ..... swee swee ...

Mainly will be using it for street / portrait shots across dinner table distance type.

Currently using the Panny 20mm F1.7 pancake which does the job but a bit to close to subject. Tied the 14-45mm too .... but not a fast lens ...

Any Shi Fu suggestion or comments ...... :)

Thanks in advance ...

i am no shifu...

since you already have the wonderful panny 20mm, the 40mm voigtlander would probably be a nice compliment to it as a short portrait lens on the gf1.. i.e 80mm lens equivalent.
i have had great experiences with the 40mm f1.4 and would endorse it anytime ...
so far the 40mm works pretty decently on my gf1

You be the judge, don't have the 40mm to compare though. Fast enough to catch my 2 year old daughter indoor.

40SC a bit dreamy wide open on G1.

No idea on the 35f1.4 though. A little OT but 35f1.2 lends mood in dim indoors, and 1/2 stop does achieve the impossible when running out of light
