I'll be blunt here. You should have more variety to your angles.Framing can be tighter in quite a few of the heading shots.

The lens you are using, is infinitely capable of much more and it's reach should allow you to capture the expressions of the players in more succinct detail.

I believe Sehsuan has covered what else is missing.
pray tell me which lens u think i was using? :)

Admittedly, it was a hunch , I'd put your lens at mid-range.

I'm not a Canon purist nor a technical pro, therefore I wouldn't know exactly what mid-range lens you are using, down to the exact range and all that funky jazz.

But the framing has still room for improvement.

Cheers.

im guessing either 70-200 2.8 or 300 2.8

wrong guess...70-200 f4 :)

You didn't mean it to be a guessing game right? I thought that was among the less sarcastic and well-meaning comments - on suggesting using longer lenses for tighter crops. What's the deal with F4 or F2.8?

Hmm..nope not meant to be a guessing game...just that some people have the assumption that good lens/equipment need to produce top quality photos:)

I can't pretend to know anything about sports shooting. Not even framing. Was just pointing out that comments such as those from LazerLordz are obviously well-meaning and trying to be constructive. I can't pretend to know how useful the comment would be. Which is why I poked my unwanted nose and commented on how there wasn't a need to try to prove assumptions wrong, especially to people who're trying to help. But that's just me. No offense.

Hey mate, no need to get your knickers in a twist. No one said it was a pretty job giving constructive critique.

It's a free world, and if others should choose to ignore my "diatribe", they can proceed to exist ad nauseum and continue shooting in their own style.I'm not imposing any p.o.vs on anyone.

Seems like two cents here is not equitable thereabouts now.:dunno:

This is my piece. 'nuff said mates..

Of course, constructive comments (such as those about framing, etcetc) are usually taken into account when I do my next shoots, while other non-constructive ones are ignored

just saw this thread.. haha MI ah. heard their football not too bad , so must have been quite exciting rite to be able to shoot at the side of the field.

were you in A Div football? :p :p

Fair 'nuff.

Just remember, the sugar-coated words of people might be less honest than those who are blunt.

Cheers.

i support what the statement above says... sometimes being honest can be a little offending... but pple who just say "very nice, well done... " are not really doing u a favour to help u improve... but having said that... slamming someone who just put their pictures up is also wrong lah... aiyah...end of the day... filter out the nonsense... and keep the CC loh...

A division girls soccer eh.. recently TNP was talking about how they dont even have B division girls soccer..

unfair man..

yea. A div girls soccer. The ironic thing in my school is that the boys team can be winning top 2, and the girls team can get thrashed 8-0 in a single match
