Aiya...seen this Roxsen adapter too late. Already bought the Metabones. Should have waited a bit longer.

US$179....could have bought 2 and still got some change but seems to be out of stock.

Hope there will be a new firmware update from Metabone that improves the AF to justify he extra costs :(

After I have managed to "siam" the temptation of the Sony FF camera, I finally gave in and bought an A7 today.

I don't know whether this is a new info or you guys have known this before:

The Metabones Speedbooster EF to NEX works on the A7. The funny thing is that on Nex 7, the AF works only with Canon L lenses. So, for non-L Canon lenses & 3rd party lenses (such as Sigma 35 f1.4 and my other Contax N lenses) must use manual focus. But on a A7 body, all those lenses came alive and the AF starts working (even though it is slow). It gets me real excited that till this moment, I still cannot sleep.... LOL.

The only set back is the A7 camera will be switched to the APS-C size capture mode automatically. But that doesn't concern me at all. At least, I can use all my EF mount lenses on the A7 now, even though the file size is limited to only about 10mp.

Bro Obelix, I am surprise you did not go for the A7R.

Yes. I have been testing the Metabones using 24-70/4 and 70-200/4. AF is usable. IS does work. Even the 1.4x teleconverter works. So I am happy. Until Ricleo dugout Roxsen.

After reading the reviews, decided to go with the A7 instead.

I guess the delay in available adapters helped me in a way. while waiting I managed to sell away most of my L lenses.all I have left is a 17-40 and 50mm...doesn't make sense to buy the adapter anymore..since I rarely will use those lenses anyways.

I would have preferred a bigger bulge in my pants :)

My Techart adapter - Contax G to Sony E arrived today. Currently, I have the G 21mm and 28mm. Waiting for my 45mm and 90mm to arrive. Am happy with the adapter that allows the use of Zeiss lenses on the A7.

In good lighting, it will take about 2 seconds to focus. It will hunt longer when in low light. With the G28mm, most of the focus (90% of the time) is tack on. The G21mm performance is not as good as the G28mm. 50% of the time is hunting for focus. It also leaves a slight magenta cast over the corners. I will try to use Cornerfix to counter the color cast during the holidays and update the status. I am quite surprised that I did not detect any color cast from the G28mm, even though reviews mentioned that G lenses are free from color cast only from 35mm onwards.

What I like about the Techart adapter is that it has a small wheel on the left (use with your left thumb) to do full time manual focussing. So, if you can't get the AF to lock, all you need to do is to scroll the wheel to activate manual focussing.

By the way, how is your Techart EF-E adapter coming along?

sadly the ebay seller is still waiting for the stocks from the factory... xmas holiday delays :(

Ok! My techart adaptor has finally arrived.

Build quality is very very good for the adaptor. Brass coated with chrome for the lens mounting portion for EF. Seems to be of a full metal construction.

Nitpick is that the tripod mount is not machined v well. Sharp edges not comfortable to hold. Prob use it without the tripod mount

Looks like they learned from metabone's mistake. Internal of the adaptor is lined with felt/flocking material to prevent internal reflections.

AF is similar to metabones. Abt 2 secs to lock. Once locked extremely accurate. Results seem sharper than what I see on a native 5D3

Tested on my 16-35, 40 2.8, 50L and works v well. Not good with the sigma 35 1.4. Hunts and doesn't wanna lock. Not sure y.

Not good with 135L too. Seems like the lens AF moving too fast for the body to lock focus for this lens.

Worth the usd 229 to me vs the metabones.

I made purchase on the 4th Dec and still did not received the RJ adaptor yet. Just filed a refund through paypal. I think they are running low on stock and unable to meet the delivery.

Am looking at other alternative adaptor now!

Yep, i willl..it does look like a cheap china made adapter but if it works i don't really care..i'm not going to be using it as a main lens adapter anyways..i don't have any EF lenses left other than a 70-300 which i use for the EOS M..

I believe the image they use is the old one..he mentioned this is an updated version fit for the A7r...but china being china..i won't know till it arrived..
The items has already been shipped out 2 days ago..should be here in 2 weeks...

Hi all, I am looking for an EF to Nex adaptor too. After reading so much on it, I think the adaptor need to be divided into a few categories.
1) Adaptor that can change the actual DOF (eg Speed booster)
2) Adaptor with electrical contact (to control aperture etc)
3) Adaptor w/o electrical contact (cheap type adaptor)
4) Adaptor w/o electrical contact but have own aperture control

The other thing that I hope can be discuss is the sharpness, any color change since there is a piece of glass at the center. Because only AF speed is mention but I though the points mention above is important too. Anyway, who is free to poision me this weekend?

Hi Bro, how many EF to Nex adaptor you have?
Which would you suggest?
I am looking for a adaptor that give good sharpness that pair with the adaptor.
AF speed I think is almost the same.

Correct me if I am wrong.
