Good series entropy_h  U went to a place where I have been planning
to visit for photoshoot since last yr but always twarted by leave issues..
I love ur crispy clouds. Looked like u got lovely weather there!

You used a GND for a few of ur shots ? There seemed abit of slight hues over the top end on #11 and #6, wonder if it is attributed to the GND or processing.

Ryan

Hey Ryan,

Thanks for viewing and your feedback. We were mostly lucky with the weather, EXCEPT for the 2 days that we were staying at the Furama resort in Danang. The 2 days we were at that beach resort, it poured for about 48 hrs continuously. No let up at all. The rest of the days were great.

Didn't use a GND at all (or any filters for those 2 shots), still don't have one but am looking to invest in one.

When you say "slight hues over the top end", could you elaborate a bit on that? Not too sure what exactly you're referring to.

Cheers.

I was refering to a slight purpling of the clouds towards the top end of the shots, that for a
while I was thinking it could be a color cast by certain GNDs. Not the most important :)

Keep ur shots coming. A definite good reference for me ( and many ) when I am finally visiting vietnam :D

Thanks a lot for the honest feedback. I think my girlfriend would be happy to know that she's being referred to as a "XMM" and a "young lady", haha. #11 is actually my personal favorite as well. She was walking back from the water and it was more of a snapshot than anything else. I think you said somewhere else that sometimes the best shots are the ones that you don't plan for?

on top of that, you can also consider a posed close-up tilt up slight wide angle shot, maybe from the knee above and a little space on top the head... retrospectively... maybe the next trip?

Thanks, will keep an eye out for that in my future shots.

That sounds interesting, except I don't really get people to pose in pictures for me. Then again, I don't really take a lot of pictures of people to begin with. Hopefully will expand my repertoire in the future.

13. My Son Sanctuary.

May I ask where did you aim for this shot? the sky or the boat?

I can't recall to be honest. I think I metered for the boat. But it's a merging of three different exposures.

oh this is HDR? nicely done! very very nice. i like it.

Hi Entropy

Great pics!!

Mind sharing what lenses you are using? Seems mostly wide angles. I want to see how wide it was...

Thanks..

Thanks for viewing!

Most of my shots are with the Sigma 10-20. If not, with my Tamron 17-50 at the wide end.

Yes, I like it wide. :)

Thanks for the info. What camera body did you used to take the shots?

lol.

I am making a trip to HCMC end Nov as well. I hope the weather is not that bad...

I didn't like HCMC as much. Preferred Hoi An. But I guess it depends on whether you're headed there for work or vacation. And I also didn't get to check out Cu Chi tunnels near HCMC. I hear that's a must see in Vietnam.

I like this one, can really feel the textures when I view the bigger size one on your flickr.

Is it also by HDR? Because I can't see any ghosting around the people.

Lovely shot ... well done. I was there 2 months ago and it was blistering hot.

Thanks! Yes it is, handheld 3 exposures. Fired it off quickly, so I don't think they moved too much within that 1 second.
