Hmm..how's the transport system? Safe?
How's the food?I guess I am too used to self-drive holidays.
Transport:The transport system is safe, and has spaces for strollers and wheelchair - it has less chair than Singapore but I think it is less "squeezed" than the 2-line seats on SMRT.

Food: For the food, you can have bread, sausages, ham, cheese etc. But there are other cuisines too - jap, chinese, etc - just a bit more expensive and less in number, but it is good enough. In the worst case, there is always macdonalds.

Self-drive: If you wish, you can self-drive around the place too. I drove about 3 days there. Just remember you drive on the right side of the road, unlike singapore where you drive on the left side - so right turn is a small circle, left turn is a larger circle of turning - very different from singapore road so must remember. Other than that, keep within the speed limit : 50km/h for town/city, 80 to 100km/h for open road and 130km/h on auto-bahn. I had the Volkswagon Touran - it is a pretty stable car on the auto-bahn - no problem handling it at all :)

Hi Minnz! Where did you go in Europe? So did you take any cam at all, or you did not take the right cam? ;p

Thank you Minnz for the compliment. I hope the temperature has not risen too much. It was into the high 20s when I was there up to end May. Weather was good?

Beautiful places and pictures.

I wondering if anyone has any tips for Paris, Rome and Turkey. Will be going there for a couple of weeks.

Brought a cam, however not a SLR. I'm still new, just bought the SLR a week back.
Headed to Italy and Switzerland for 2 weeks.

Just got back mid-june. the weather was hot hot hot! However up the mountains in Switz was cold! The views up the mountain was shockingly beautiful.... and i'm kicking myself for not bringing a better cam then. Its my honeymoon, plus the wedding so i'm pretty much broke.
Can't wait to go travel again and this time round, I'm sure to bring better equipment ard!

actually not having a good camera can be good for your honeymoon, becos mingling with a DSLR means it is conspicious to everyone including your other half. unless he is an avid photographer himself, or that you really take out the camera only once in a while, your other half may feel otherwise.

Hmm... I guess the other half have to understand loh. Sometimes, because of photographing, my spouse had to wait. I remember in Tokyo when I was shooting in the cold wind, she had to wait there for extra 30minutes before we go off.. Of course, don't overdo it i.e. make her wait for hours on end.... Not healthy for the relationship.... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

very nice pictures!!!! thanks for sharing:) :)

Nice gallery you have! :bsmilie:

Whoa, stunning photos... :o Makes me want to go there too.

For those who have PMed me earlier on tips for this Eastern Europe trip. (photos :Photos can be viewed here)
I thought just to drop a note here for the trip.

Regarding equipment employed, I used:
- Nikon D70 body
- 18-200mm Nikon VR lens
- Sigma HSM 10-20mm wide angle (where required - recommended for europe cos many buildings).
- Occasional use of circular polariser
- No GND used.
- Velbon Maxi5i tripod (light and strong enuff)

For tips on shooting, I employed the following:
1) Rules of thirds (pleasing to the eye)
2) Avoid having >1/3 of white/bright cloudy sky where possible (limited dynamic range). If you must shoot, try bracketing the photo so you can post processing for maximum range.
3) Shooting with back towards the sun where possible (better colors)
4) Framing a photo using door frames, window frames, tree leaves etc. (more impact)
5) Use lines to guide the eyes towards the subject (improve focus)
6) Balance the composition so that there is not too much "blank/uninteresting stuff" in one part of the picture. (viewer feels more balanced)
7) When shooting long exposures, die die use tripod and lower ISO.
8) Look look look around. Too many things in the photo icauses less impact and less things create more impact. "More is less and less is more".

That's all that I have for now! :)
Have a good time, folks - those who are going europe for a holiday.
