1. Sony is already the market-beating performer in AF accuracy and speed. What more do you want?
2. True, tough right now the A700 has the same noise as the D300...
3. Sony cameras usually lead the way in resolution. How much more do you want to capture?

I think your main issue would be with the JPEG processing. If you shoot RAW, you'll really appreciate the details you capture.

Well got improvements then worth the upgrade ma right hahaha.
If they come out same performance over the current models then the consideration
will be the pricing liao.
Anyway there are always room for improvements.

There is always room for improvement... for the photographer.

An improved camera doesn't improve a photographer's skill.

If someone shoots lousy photos, what he can get is probably a sharper, cleaner, well focused and exposed version of the lousy photo - always remember that.

Ask not what the camera can do for you, only what you can do with a camera. ;)

Maybe they can have one model which have video and another without, priced accordingly...
But I think the technology shouldnt be beyond Sony, there was a time when full frame AS was thought to be impossible, then came the A900.

That's quite true.. I remember an article about *a**n's spokeman talked about sony's implementation on FF AS is impossible because of the larger diameter of sensor circle (>35mm).. It's amazing Sony did it! Let's hope sony does it (video) right the first time...;)

If one wants everything in one, might as well build in a PSP, phone, video, MP3 player, GPS and whatever gadgets into a DSLR.

I only bring my A700+lenses and a PSP. It's the killer combo. A700 for photography and PSP for the rest.

I want to listening to music while shooting I'll use the PSP.

I want to watch movie while going to/from outdoor shoots I'll use the PSP.

I want to shoot video, plug in the PSP camera and shoot.

I want to know my location at the spot I shot a butterfly, plug in the PSP GPS Receiver, and I'll know the exact location.

If I'm really bored, play games on my PSP.

Not enough memory card and need to shoot, use the MS from the PSP.

And both A700 and PSP are SONY.

My eyes brightened for a while when you mentioned the names of A700 and PSP together...

Thought you're talking about the successor model being a camera and a PSP rolled into one, how good would that be.

:sweat::sweat::sweat:

Imagine... The model all cramped up, tying to hold that pose for you while you seem to be concentrating on your camera, unhappy... then you shout out: "Sianz!!!! Died again!"

But it would put a whole new spin on the alpha gatherings. :D

Yeah plus wifi lan gaming as well... woohoo... head to head shooting... hahaha...

With regard to video, SONY has already released a statement some time ago saying they will do it only when they get it right... so no rush, no pressure... and that's the right way... they did also say that current implementations are far from ideal... so I guess they'll have something up their sleeves... the Panasonic GH-1 is truely impressive specs wise... I haven't seen it yet nor a video clip from it at full HD on a full HD 46" LCD panel... so don't know if it's all that good...
