Yup! Taught it would be helpful. Since there is no dedicated BNS thread here, hope it will be helpful to post your equipment here, if you are buying or selling. I'm actually interested in buying a prosumer camcorder. Cheers!

u can start to fill in the list...coz i duno the exact price for semi pro or pro body...

Think it might be hard to list Vid cam prices cos its quite a huge range from consumer to pro series camera. And also each brand has its own strong points in different category of video qualities and formats. Each vendor's price is diff and usually good prices come from private vendors. So its a little sticky to try a BnS or cost thread.

There's probably thousands of prosumer cameras around but we don't see that many it the secondary market. Hope this thread would helps open the door a little. So anyone selling or er! buying? If you are selling try here or if buying where? What? How's the price?

Canon is coming out a few mid range HD cams XH G1 & A1, maybe you should look into that area for the same price point....
But then again, try considering, CMOS VCAMS are making a impact in video world, I am a user of Sony HVR-A1 and I can say CMOS is really great especially for artifical lights surroundings... Sony latest offering HVR-V1 (Launch in Dec) maybe a big thing... hopefully I can get to that in end of 2007, with the earnings...

The HVX202E is about 10k with a 100G firestore or a 4G P2 card.
DVX102B is cheaper than 102A but IT CANNOT DO INTERVAL RECORDING! S$3800
The Sony HDV Z1P is at S$8200
Canon XL2 did not come down as much S$5200
Canon XL H1 is S$11k - S$12k
Sony 1A is S$3950

I am glad I have Sony, Panasonic and Canon Account.

OK, lets' start with A1 first. To me, it is a very good camera to cover event, it is light and the video quality is remarkable, anyone who uses A1 will simply love it. One of my customer ever comment on the size, being small and look like a toy, but he is truely surprise when I show them my final work, it is not even in HDV, only in 720 X 576, standard PAL DVD Widescreen. Anyway I do not use this for HDV. You can get one for $3600 (Grey Set).
Why use A1 for wedding event??? In most of the wedding I cover, around 60~70% are HDB flats, they are tight in corners and still I have to give way to the photographer sometimes. With A1, you can record even with the limited space around you, especially during gate crashing. To me Sony A1 is just a fantastic system to use. I have experience the following camera: Canon XM2 & Sony VX1000, I dare to say, the image quality of A1 does not lose out in SD, I feel its even better.

V1 will be released with the official price of USD$4800, I hope to upgrade this by end of 2007. The reviews for this system is good, however I am still looking for options, because V1 uses a completely different series of batteries.

anyone any ideal how much a HVR-Z1P cost and how its performance compare to its rival panasonic, JVC or canon at tat range?
rhx

z1 abt 8k bah... plus accessories be close to 10k... yah i used before, the body abit plastic plastic feeling, pd still nice metal feel... anyway yah got problems with lowlight esp when you're used to pd... but take it outdoor with sufficient light... phew nice nice color man...

Cannot actually compare, Sony Z1 is the first HD, thus it have many limitations as compare to Pansonic AG-HVX200 & JVC GY-HD100U (launch later), while Sony does its HD images in the interlace mode (1080i), Pana (1080p) & JVC (720p) uses progressive mode, whereby it ensure more movie like and smoother images. That is why Sony V1 was launch to counter the offers from Pana and Jvc and also Canon

Latest! Panasonic Dvx 102B only $3650 from Expandore. down from $3800, :dunno: still don't know where to get the $ :bsmilie: .
