yes valerie's hair was intentionally messed and it was part of the art of hairdressing, so i really wonder why there is a prob with it. It looks really nice on her. if all you guys want is the straight silky rebonded hairdo that 99.9% of singapore girls had, i'm sorry to tell you that i'm not into such commonality. Just my personal stand :)

Think i'll fix the blemishes as remarked by mojims and a few others. Pardon me 'cause i always thought having "the proof of skin" in the photos is naturally beautiful. Again, this is just my artistic stand. I'll do more alterations for the sake of the models.

Are u fine with that Valerie?

Yes I am fine with that. No worries. :) Its all up to you.

Val looks incredibly cute here! =D Hahahha!

I'm waiting for the photos with 2 of us together!

& I realise my braces are making my jaw protude out awkwardly. ): Well, I'm not God or Aphrodite in the first place!

lols Clarissa (aka magnifique-love), actually if you dont have braces on we could have taken more shots of your brightful smile... our mistake that we never asked in the first place! Portraits is not about taking photos of "perfect" models, the art in portrait is to bring out the best in any models (and using their face as the subject of art as well)... my artistic stand again :)

Valerie looks very sweet and I am sure she is a great model too.

However my honest opinion is that her skin is not good. The blemishes and open pores are very obvious. I shall not comment on the makeup.

Thanks Lynnie for the opinion and compliment. I am aware of my skin complexion and I'm working on it.. :)

It hasn't been good after I started using liquid foundation and its recently that I found out from make up artists. So, Im trying to take care of it now. :)

Do provide some tips if you dont mind. :)

Makeup will NOT cause breakouts if you remove it properly at the end of the day. In fact if you use a good foundation, it actually protects your skin. And yes, you need a proper makeup remover, normal face wash just doesnt cut it. I think the problem lies with your skincare routine.

Sorry for the OT. :)

thank you lynnie for your helpful and wonderful response. but lynnie, do you believe that photoshop-ing is inevitable? i ask this just in hope that you may share your opinion.

Hi.. :)

I think even for models with relatively good skin, without PP, can still see open pores here and there and sometimes oiliness in the T zone area. So you need to use Photoshop to blur out these imperfections. (And maybe other Photoshop tools, Im no expert here. That one need to consult Kongo or Zeckson gor. Heh.)

Making your models look their best is also part of being a good photographer. ;)

hmm.. sorry for being kpo a bit.. since the question is directed at lynnie.. just to share some comments.

If it is diffused lighting (e.g. cloudy weather), it may be fine to skip PP and the model with reasonable skin will still look nice and natural. But, you're using a flash, and it amplifies the imperfections of the skin, increased contrast, and highlighted the defects. So some PP will help.. ;)

if you wan do a messy hair theme.. do it really messy.. this one looks like she jus woke up and forget to brush/comb her hair....make up wise (for clarissa). lynnie don wan comment den i think i should comment, that is not creative makeup, putting multiply colours on a model/girl/object face is not called creative.. creative is an art, is something to impress people, not as to scare ppl or think it as something else.
