More often than not... their problem is with their DNS server, that results in lost connections, etc.

Lack of proper competition & contractual lock-ins is harmful to us consumers & subject us to the mercy of large corporations that take our money & do not live up to their end of the bargain in terms of providing decent service :(.

Dude, this is what I got!

without DNS specified:

with 8.8.8.8 for DNS as suggested earlier:

Mine is supposed to be a 10Mbps line!!!!!

Hmmm...This is what I got. 10mbps plan.

Played with the wireless chanlel setting to a non-default setting (2472MHz).
Observed a consistent high download speed with multiple speedtest.
Hope this solves (most of) my problem.

Don't think it's related to your wireless router though. This is what I got from my laptop sitting in the living room (router's in the bedroom).

Clearly there is still a significant gap between the speed of our lines.

One thng I cannot understand. Your like is 10Mbps but you were able to get above 10Mbps from the speed test. What is measured ?

I really have no idea what's measured here :bsmilie:
All i know is that this test is pretty popular for bandwidth performance measurement, and I've always achieved a number higher than my plan's maximum with Singtel.

Figured out why the BB speed was slow - landline plugged in without micro filter. User problem

But then, ran speedtest on two notebooks, placed side by side in front of the router, test ran (almost) simultaneously.

Previous PC which I complained about slow connection.

Work PC which supposed to have better hardware.

Repeated test on work pc only achieved about the same figure....

weird.

I am on 10mbps plan with singnet...

did the ping test as well
