I love her hairdo. Its so trendy even in today's context.

Was the Old Airport bldg being used as an airport before or after Paya Lebar? I landed at Paya Lebar in 1972......

Always love retro. A very nicely done advert that brought out the lifestyle of Singapore back then.

Thanks for sharing!

just wandering why must the focus be on the gal ?

i mean airlines can focus on food, good seats, in flight entertainment etc...

Hallo, this one from the 70s lah. In-flight entertainment meant the Singapore Girl gave you a magazine to read.

An older and slower time.

I long for such a life, yet I would never give up all the modern stuff we have now *cough* my camera *cough*

I wonder is this a commonly held sentiment, or is everyone happy with the fast-paced stressful lives we lead :)

back than, airlines companies are mostly the same, so to make an airline company stands out from the rest is the cabin service, do you prefer an auntie or a young pretty SIA girl serve you coffee??

USP - Unique Selling Proposition.

If your product is the same as everyone elses, you have to find something about it, or something that it does. Or the way it is used...or the ways in which it can be used - that's different, to separate it from the others, and make it unique.

One of the most brilliant I remember was the Polo mint.

The manufacturing process left a lobang in the sweet, but instead of letting that be a weakness, the ad agency took that 'fault', and turned it into one of the most famous ad sells in history:

POLO - the Mint with the HOLE.

Up till today, foreigners who have flown SIA still remembers the 'Singapore Girl', and apparently many still talk about the 'beauty' of the SG.
