on a separate note, i'm more than a little annoyed that my EM1 has been in the Olympus service centre to fix an unresponsive rear dial (same issue, second time), and i haven't heard from them in two full weeks. in the meantime, the GR has been getting lots of love!

what an evening. my better half is sick again, succumbing to fatigue and a relapse of last week's illness. thought i'd fed, bathed and tucked the last little 'un to bed, when a shriek shattered the silence - Erin slipped and fell against the bed frame, taken a nasty knock right next to her left eye. this photo was taken after i'd iced the swelling down for a good fifteen minutes, screams and all.

monkey and cuppa

i tried Ben & Jerry's for the first time in New York some eighteen years ago on a friend's recommendation, chancing upon a tub of Chunky Monkey in a 7-11 near our NYC hotel. back at the hotel room, my brother and i took to it with a couple of spoons, only to wince in dismay as we barely made a dent in the rock-hard ice cream. a poor first impression indeed (this is long before B&J was available in Singapore).
