[ Vanity ] Olympus EM-5 accessories thread

You can get gariz case and cable remote from artworkfoto

Yes I know that but I need to know the price first since the artworkfoto is closed on sunday,
and I may not have enough time to do shopping tomorrow.

I thought the original version looks a little gimmicky but that new L-plate version looks good. Quite pricey though. USD175, That's more than half the price of a HLD-6 without any of the other functionalities.

Comparing image of the original and Third party grip

ORIGINAL GRIP

Third Party Grip, what a solid looking grip and very retro looking.

The bottom view, note it can easily access to the batery compartment. This is a plus point.

Got my EP-11 eyecup finally and really can find the differences compare to the original one. Enjoy the eyecup for those who received the eyecup from me. remember to pull up straight to remove ( i do that) ;)

I like the look of the 3rd party grip better

Thank you for the mass order

Any idea how to get my hands on the EP-11 now? haha.

Think the only way is through order online or call the local service centre and reserve.

I think I'm calling tomorrow to make the reservation.

Saw this a while back. Didn't really like it, although the idea is good, esp. the integrated arca plate and opening for the battery. The deal breaker is that the grip (handle) portion doesn't match the profile of the camera itself. It looks "off", if you know what I mean. The HLD6 looks better and has the extra buttons.

anyone heard of Third party grip for OMD-EM5

I tried the Phottix Nikos wired remote (intervalometer) with the E-M5. Didn't work. The LCD screen blacks out when the remote is in "off" position, but the shutter can be released. Turn the remote on and nothing, not even shutter release. Push the remote switch to the "bulb" position and the shutter opens, push to "on" position and the shutter closes. Weird...

Not sure about cable remote, but i am using the wireless remote Phottix Cleon II O6:
PHOTTIX® CLEON II - Wireless Remotes

Lots of online shops here carry the Phottix products.

Heard from one of the forumer who ordered from me the ep-11 that olympus singapore just replenish their stock. Those who want, do call them to check.

The main issue for me with that 3rd party grip is the price. It's pretty expensive for just a grip with no other benefits.

I had one it works.

You probably had a loose USB connection. Happen to me before.

Hmm... that's strange. Plugged in and out multiple times. The original cable for the USB connection worked without any problems. I even tried another O6 cable, didn't work. Perhaps, I should go try them out again.

Thks for sharing.

Regarding the 3rd party grip. There isn't any shuttle button on it. I try pressing the on-cam original shuttle button with my HLD-6 fitted. It doesn't feel good at all... I have small hand thou... This grip may be suit photographer with bigger hand better.
