UWA Discussion

Clarify "low light"? Do you mean that you are going to depend on f4.0 and try to take a picture of say the Merlion or Clifford Pier in the evening with high ISO without the use of tripod?

i mean like sunset set timing... or shooting city landscape in the evening... of cos with tripod :bsmilie:

;) even the kit lens 18-55 also can do wide angle night shots with a tripod...

The picture below was shot using the kit lens.
Pentax kit kens is actually one of the best kit lens around.

Bought a used Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 from a forumer. First test will be at the NDP this coming Monday. Exciting.

can the 1020 also be use for low light landscape? :dunno:

anything can be used for low light landscape.

even a 500mm, if you set your mind to it.

it's just whether it's used well, or horribly. :bsmilie:

Searched Pentax forum, last discussion was quite a while back.

I am considering to purchase one of the UWA (non-fish eye) lens.

Are the following still the preferred choice?

Pentax DA 12-24mm f/4 AL (IF)
Sigma AF10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC

Are there any "newer" lenses lately?

Thanks for your advice.
DA 14, DA 15
or Tamron 10-24

Took the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 out for some shooting today. Generally very happy with it, love the wide angle view on things and pictures turn out ok. Very pleased with the lens. Glad I bought it.
