I only had one minor no good experience years back, and that's way I like to read to know if mine is just random?

i've tried AP 3 times. 3 times bcoz i've read and heard much about them on prices. and three times i've been treated like an outcast. a pariah. 3 times i have had to take the initiative to approach them, not the other way round. maybe bermudas is a no no in their shop

as far as i'm concerned i think 3 times is enough. they may have cheaper prices for some of the stuffs but i still end up taking my $$ to elsewhere. my D80 is one exmaple.. AP is $30 cheaper than where i got it from. but i still buy from sam.

i just dont like the prospects of having to go back to them in case of defects and have to put up with their black/green/purple faces :sweat:.. all for $30 bucks?

as mentioned b4..AP is good if you know what u want, go ask for price, buy and leave.
each shop has their niche that caters to wide pool of consumers.

but in this case, the ts knows what he wants, knows the price, ask for alternative, and ended up with that quotation that is hard to swallow.

I have purchased 10 P&S and 3 DSLR from AP w/o any problems for years. I have even recommended many friends, both local and foreign who are satisfied customers.

I agree that this is mutual thing. If you don't like their service or offers, just walk off to other shops who can fulfil your requirements or 'specificatons'. By 'shouting' at this forum will not change your mind.

If AP is that bad like you say, how come it is the most crowded shop in SLS? You can go and witness yourself.

CP, MS & OP have join the boat of 'bad' services and offers. Maybe should just post and tell the others where you have received the 'emperor' service that others also can benefits.

If I receive the service from the shop not meeting my expectation, I just move on and never patron that shop again. That's life.

I second that. I have also bought quite a few items in the last 5years or so from them.

I always drop by after work, in long sleeve. But just before arriving, I roll up my sleeves and unbutton the top button. And upon arriving, I speak a mixture of Hokkien and Singlish which is the de facto lingua franca there.

Their service may not be top notch, but their prices are pretty reasonable. Actually, it is not the price there that I go for, but the range of merchandise they carry. I got a lens that NO ONE else got here in Singapore!

I hate shops who lie to their customer, that's no respect for them and consider them very obviously as stupid people.

i've only been to mscolor 711 once only coz its kinda far for me since i stay at jurong west but i find that their service is very good.I feel comfortable buying things there.if only its not so far from my house i would go there all the time

MS Color is fine...Look for florence, she actually honor her quote to me even though its at a lower price as im prepared to pay for the actual higher price.

I buy mostly from Alan Photo and TCW. However I am not the type
that ask if this is good or that is good. I find out most of
the info from the internet, or on line forums like Clubsnap
and then I get a guage of the prices then go and get what
I need.

You mostly have to know a lot before you go and
buy. None of the sales men I know has even used a serious
camera.

They are sales men/ sales girls etc nothing more . Shops DO NOT
want to hire people that know too much because they must move
the items..

I once phoned MS-COLOR about an item. The woman said the item
is AVAILABLE and in STOCK. I made by way there only to find that
the information is WRONG. This is even when I know what I need
and I wanted to buy.

I just came back from California recently and the shop there
also have similar people, they dont know much. However shops
in the USA has a RETURN policy.. Singapore DOES NOT.

So do your own reseach fiirst before going to buy.. and you
wont get upset

Be fair. This price is cheaper than that offer by Tin Cheung in Hong Kong.

Then May I ask why then you still want to go there??

I have a little strategy for you:

1. Find a way to make sure that many people in these forum know you are going there to buy this.

2. Then at least for PR purpose, esp after all these stories, you will come out as a very statisfied customer.

3 And you will come here and state your experience and debunk many of the stories mentioned.

And all live happily ever after, akan datang next episode.


So conclusion: situation is on your side now - of course careful.

However, personally, I will do differently.

Yesterday mi and 2 friend went to the zoo.. He was using the 1DM3... The function and the color was POWER... 10FPS.. I tin. He told mi he just got it last week.. The battery could last for at least 5000 shoot... But the price for the battery is rather X ard $250 but still out of stock. Maybe u wan to check with him wher he got his gem? Nickname syl..
