Anyone used this shipping service before ? What's the delivery times like to Singapore ? The USPS website mentioned 6-10 days (non-guaranteed). I've heard some said it could be more than 1 month ?!

The USPS is alot more reliable than UPS fyi...if its more than a month prob because the item stuck in sg customs. I sent stuff back and it took about 3 weeks.

Friends send me lots of stuff via USPS.

Generally the normal air mail will take about a week.

'Express' or super urgent option takes about 3-7 days (I generally receive it in 3-4 days).

Registered with tracking, and insured about 2 weeks.

Assuming that all address details are correct.

What I've experienced before (on the SG side) is that IF a number is wrong or missing in your postal code, your item may get delayed anywhere from 2 weeks to several months. And if the item doesn't get hung up in SG Customs, but even if it does, you'll get a call or letter within a few days.

Hope this helps.

That's a relief. So your stuff shipped from US to SG within the 6-10 days period ?

It's day 10 for me already.... still no news of the whereabouts. There's no tracking outside of US. I just know that it left US 8 days ago from USPS webiste. Hope it'll be here soon.

Depends on your luck.

It seems like my friends IN the US have more worse luck with USPS than those outside.

I always INSIST on insurance for important or expensive items because that has two added securities; tracking and signed at my door-step delivery.

The super urgent service you also have to sign for at your door.

I once had a parcel with 1 postal code number wrong. Took more than 2 months to reach me but last week I received a parcel in 11 days. It had no postal code written on it at all!

Sometimes, it is stuck at the Singapore customs.

HTH.

USPS is worse than UPS actually. UPS commands a hefty premium when shipped from the states anyway.

i've shipped a few items out of country via USPS global priority and most reached within a week.

USPS? Had an awfully bad experience when my stuff was actually LOST IN MAIL.

Waited for well over 2 to 3mths when I sent a note to the retailer who resent it to me, double-quick time using Fedex. Arrived within 4 days.

My last order of Da'Protector? Well, it took place last month. Until now? No sign of it... yet.

I love USPS. Bought and sold about 5-6 items within a month using USPS. Total transactions totalling about 1.5k. They all went through fine :)

EDIT: Max time was about 3 weeks, because the person I sent it to lived in a city that Singpost doesn't fly direct to, so they had to transport it from the airport they DO fly to, then to that city.

woohoo... :gbounce::gbounce: got a note from SingPost today to collect my 'undelivered' parcel ! Priority mail ain't that bad after all ! :gbounce:

not really i have to disagree. I've shipped stuff with both and insured them and ups once delivered damaged goods and refused to pay up the insurance for it. USPS has been fast and reliable and responsible. Never ever using UPS again after what they did to me.

And you haven't even experienced what the guys in the US have :) Packages left in front of the house, out in the rain and in view of anyone who wants a free item, packages thrown in the backyard or again left at the doorstep without the deliveryman even bothering to ring the doorbell, packages left with random neighbors who the intended recipient doesn't even know (often the case with university students who stay in dorms or rent houses/flats)..

hmm somehow i have very good experience with UPS... never tried USPS though...
