Using Wide Angle / Tele Converter on your camera

Hi guys,

Sorry took so long to upload. Been suuper busy! rawr. So here are my own photos taken with the converter, on a Canon 50mm f1.8.

ADDED: By the way all three photos were shot with aperture at f1.8, forgot the shutter speed.

100% crop as in, a part of the picture at 100% right? I'm only on picasa, can someone teach me how to do that on picasa?

Nope, you can't use teleconverters on EF-S lenses. And you have the wrong understanding of teleconverters and wide converters. The teleconverter multiplies the wide end of your zoom range as well, so you lose the wide end.

Best solution for you is to shoot as much as you can with your current lenses first. You will gradually become more aware of what you normally shoot. Don't be overly concerned with trying to cover all focal lengths... instead discover what your favorite focal lengths are.

Hi sorry to ask, but i thought barrel distortion is bad? I got chopped to buy a 0.45x wide angle converter before and i still use it though with some pp done in photoshop.

hi mabmy,

this is only a test shot, which i wants to show exactly how it is, right out of camera. i feel there is no point for me to show pped photos, which may mis-lead others into thinking that is the image quality they will get from the wide angle converter.

if you dont mind, i hope you can share some non-pped, direct out of camera shots taken with your wide angle converter as well as the photo of your converter.

i will like to remind all, this is not a wide angle converter review thread.

the objective of this thread is simple :
to share with fellow photography hobbyist the what the wide angle converter can do,
let the viewer make their own judgment / decision.

hi mabmy, thanks for sharing.

if u look carefully, the wide angle converter is the same as the one i borrowed from my friend, the Digital King, see post #1, #9, #10 & #12.

anyway, if possible, pls post the photos of your converter and the photo taken by it w/o pp in this thread. i am hoping we can consolidate all the converter here so it is easier for people to do their research. thanks in advance.

Am looking around for any other 3rd party wide angle converter lens for my canon s5 that is cheaper than canon's original converter lens (which is priced at $190). Thanks!

I took some photo with my wide angle converter and it seems there are black areas in the four corners which look horrible. I am using D90 with filter included with a 18-105 mm lens. Please help to clarify the problem. Thanks.
