Enjoying my canon 35 f2 now..
No need to wait bro... you won't go wrong following Benny's advice!!!

Thanks bro! Looking forward to joining you for the next darkroom printing session! :)

Just curious, what is the market price for an excellent condition of this lens? Possible to get it below S$1k?

Shld be 1k and above bro..n maybe not in excellent condition

wow, like that ah?
(strange that for a Leica 35mm, more than $1k is like nothing. think about the lau yia summarit also close to $2K. But for a non-Leica, it just seems expensive. Totally illogical I know.)

sorry post wrong place. pls delete

If there is a demand..i don see any wrong for it to be above 1k...
A nikkor 3.5cm f1.8 is also above 1k....

Not everyone plays leica...and not necessary the canon would be cheaper...:)
U shld try it and test the quality...and then u would be saying its cheap for such quality...:)

Yup, just done it, for a little more than $1k (to test its quality). If it is not any good, I would sell it way below $1k, for quick sale :)

His is still for sale, any bad experience with him before?

Think it's coz the lens has a stain. He also seems to be a dealer.

Wah..nice lens...did u try shooting at f1.5?
I know the nikkor is still very sharp at f1.8..how does this lens compared with wide open?

Not everyone speaks Japanese! :bsmilie:

I know. I'm trying to learn but can hardly say anything other than "I'm looking for Canon 40mm filters..."

No need to wait bro... you won't go wrong following Benny's advice!!!

You flatter me Ed. I don't think I'm qualified to give advice, but just sharing some of my limited experiences. Your copy of this lens looks good. Very nice pictures.

Interesting that you should point it out. Here in Japan, a lot of the Japanese lenses actually cost more than the Leica lenses as well. In Singapore, it seems like most users are only interested in Leica. Then again, availability is also an issue.

There was a time when Canon was the cheapest way to get into RF if you discount the reliability issue of the Russian RF lenses. These days, I see prices of Canon LTM lenses at several times what it used to cost. No doubt brought about by the popularity of the digital RF and the NEX, M 4/3 and GXR mounting options.

However, playing with vintage lens carries a relatively high risk of getting lemons. You need to know how to check the lenses for imperfections before you can really see results that these optics originally built their reputation on.

Cheers,
