However, playing with vintage lens carries a relatively high risk of getting lemons. You need to know how to check the lenses for imperfections before you can really see results that these optics originally built their reputation on.
Wah..nice lens...did u try shooting at f1.5?
I know the nikkor is still very sharp at f1.8..how does this lens compared with wide open?
You flatter me Ed. I don't think I'm qualified to give advice, but just sharing some of my limited experiences. Your copy of this lens looks good. Very nice pictures.
Too funny :bsmilie:

Im so in love with swirling bokeh
The lens arrived today from JP. Took a few test shots and I'm confused... not really sure if it is a lemon, a diamond, or a demon?!!
For those who own this lens, can you describe what is the characteristic of its IQ wide-open? My copy produces image with good resolution BUT with quite strong glow (especially for things like white words on black, no noticeable glow for black word on white). Stopped down just 1 stop to f2, glow all gone and the lens is brilliant. Sharp but gentle, very pleasing.
