true.... I am soliciting feedback from users of the major replacement exercise earlier :) Thanks for the clarification or else feedback would be 'distorted'

Anyway, any more feedback, guys ? I wonder what happened to the rest ? Using other makes now :bsmilie:

yo brothers and sisters of CS !

I am going to up this thread for a while to instil some confidence back to SANYO users esp. those who had faced similar problem.

I have met up with SANYO tonight finally after a hectic work schedule  Anyway, I had promised that I would give you all updates. SANYO thanked all for returning their bad samples. The contributing cause of the quick discharge was found after stringent testing. A solution was also made to their new batches of 2500.

Like all Japanese products, they were never meant to be faulty. They take great pride in their products. However, in their constant pursuit to squeeze more power out of rechargeable batteries for end users like us, the content and structure of the original batttery is constantly changing. Earlier studies shown that the 2500s had NO problem in cool countries or countries with four seasons. As bad samples are surfacing ONLY in hot countries, they acknowledge that the batteries did not deliver its peak performance locally. In view of this, they sincerely apologised for any inconvenience caused to local consumers.

Some may ask what's the current situation ? While neighbouring countries are getting their 2500s replaced progressively. All major stores in Singapore are already carrying the improved 2500s, so rest assured that you can buy with confidence :) They have done their part. However, I would like to reiterate that if you buy from small retailers, you will face some risk as they may have brought in their 2500s from other sources other than directly from our local SANYO.

 to SANYO and ALL OF YOU who took another chance on the replacement batteries. We are sure the batts are serving you well now. Enjoy the batteries ...my dear brothers and sisters. Mr SANYO aka AhV is always somewhere near you  Seriously, I am somewhat glad that my effort was worth it. We never gave up on SANYO ...tho we almost did and they had delivered their duty by replacing our batteries and improving their new ones.

Stay tune for their 2700 and eneloop ... :p More feedback would be good from those who took part in the replacement exercise. It helps to show that the SANYO batteries are back in action

Oh....BTW, what I have written above is a summary from my point of view. I mean alot was said ..... I felt the need to summarise ...easier to read

thanks for the update bro! so our replacement batts are the improved ones? just wondering since it seems like we got them replaced before sanyo figured out the problem.

So far been swapping them around from my portable storage and my flash. They're holding their expected charge. Compared to the one before exchange ... so far so good

good point there...well, at least we know they have improved those batteries in the current market. I am not complaining as we could have been identified as the best testers for their improved replacement batteries, which were also those given out. In this instance, no complaint meant discharge issue solved. :) I hope so as there are postive feedback.

Upzz for awareness.....;)

The replaced batts work better than my newly bought 1 mth ago.

yo, people ..like I said, if any of you have made purchases in small retail shops. We are not able to confirm what source those batts came from. However, my latest discussion with SANYO was promising. They have assured that all major stores e.g. Carrefour, Giant ...etc are carrying the IMPROVED batches. During the replacement exercise, I have received many queries regarding this issue, i.e. how do I know when I make a purchase of 2500s that they are from the latest batch. Well, I hope we have got an answer now. If you still prefer to buy from small retail shops, which may offer lower pricing, ensure you verify their source. Of cos, they can 'bluff' you

Any feedback from the rest of the guys ? :)

Upzzz.....;)

Thanks AhV.
So far think mine got no problem. Did get lots of shots from them. Did not leave them alone long enough to see if they got lose charge. Will update if they do.

Yeah, I've left one set lying around for 2 weeks. So can confirm they hold the charge. Otherwise the Sanyo2500s are still less lasting than some of their competitors. Averaging less shots per full charge to other 2500s.

AhV, if you want to feedback that to Sanyo, you can easily reach me offline or via PM ;)

called sanyo last week and was told to email. emailed, but no reply yet. how long does this normally take?

i'm glad that they're making the effort to replace the batteries, but it costs less than $15 to buy 4 from another brand, so if this drags on i may save the trouble and just buy new ones.

still, it's nice to hear that the replacement batts are working fine. good work AhV.

IMHO Sanyo are not doing enough, they should openly recall their batteries knowing that it is faulty. No need to go through forums and all the emails. What happen to others that bought them and not reading this forum. I have yet to see Sanyo doing a recall.

thanks for your feedback..will convey your thots accordingly :)

The replacement batteries are working great. I brought a rechargeable battery tester from eastgear. The batteries still have 3/5 power left after been idle 2 week in camera. Will try to test what is the max photo on full charge this weekend.

AhV, thx for the great effort. greatly appreciated. :D

my replacements seemed to be ok after these months of usage. :)

the only problem now i face is the slightly older 2500 batts than the ones i replaced, is showing the discharge problem now. so fustrated!! why now after the changing excersie was over??!!
