An instant rebate is basically a discount given at the checkout, and essentially equivalent to a temporary price drop. Applies to both in-store as well as online purchases.

How to get the rebate? What website honor that?

Any authorized dealers selling US Warranty cameras (not grey) will give the discount. This includes Amazon, B&H, Adorama. Give them a couple of days after start of offer to get their website updated.

You don't get any money back. Instead, what happens is you get the rebate amount directly applied to your purchase. So, say the 40D is US$1140 at Amazon today. Assuming Amazon doesn't pull a fast one and raise prices, on May 18 the price will be listed as $1140 - $200 instant rebate = $940. That's below S$1300... damn, I'm tempted again *sigh*
