Those shops are very expensive though. What he saves will just be 4% GST.

So he must be the one who weigh the odds. As I mentioned, dun wan to waste time and trouble then will have to waste more money.

Anyway DFS shouldn't be that ex. If no choice then try telling them u singaporean see got further discount or not lor :p

Happy huntin! and bon voyage!

;p DFS for camera products are not cheap. If I remember correctly, the DFS shop is Boon Hi-Tech or something like that. The prices are not much different from what I saw at the Raffles City branch - full retail prices. Tokyo's DFS camera shops also sell their cameras 20-40% above the city prices.

Anyway, he has to balance whether getting a good deal is important. Certainly, it's not worthwhile to miss the plane because of a battery ;p Maybe someone in Tampines could sell him a battery at the original purchase price?

for all you know he now sleeping outside eastgear. heheheheeeeeeee

why not buy from www.eastgear.com $29.90 for one. cheaper for two. you can go to the shop at Peninsula Plaza.

Unfortunately EastGear sells them w/o the battery covers. For the BP511 users, I was wondering how you guys manage this?

Whether you got lobang for the plastic covers or is there some good battery container for it.

urr... but why would I need a battery cover? :dunno: Just slip it into some bag or something to prevent shorting the terminals? The plastic holder that came with the battery can be cut to size to achieve this purpose too. :D

I will be leaving for Australia....and i am not sure whether i can get it there....that is why i think it is safest to get it in singapore.....

blurblock: wat u mean by century square? whiuch shop in century square?

yesterday bigbelly ask me to reach eastgear by 9.30am, i dont know whether he reaching there by this tiem......

I have a memory card cum battery holder that I got earlier which works better than the battery cover. Bougt it overseas though. Lowepro should have some which works as well. Worse come worse, just put the battery in a small plastic/ziploc bag.

If he told you he'll be there then he'll be there. If sway sway dun have just go downstairs to CP or opp or anywhere in that vacinity, all sure can find ur batt, only price difference. But I think at this time that 10 20 bucks shouldn't be of importance ya?

No rush no rush, plenty of time for everything

Called Eastgear just now and someone is already there...... I am going to get one there now...... Thanks everyone...... :) :) :)

Good for you.. go go go!!!

BTW, the canon BP511 cost abt $100+ and not a mere $40+. Well unless they did a price reduction........

the orginal battery covers cost $8 @ canon service centre each

mpenza: your accessory bag thing sounds really useful - will source for one.

Thanks all for the very useful suggestions and information regarding the battery cover. I particularly like the cut the battery box one and $8 for a piece of plastic is a rip off!!!
