Can't you just get something like the Tokina 11-16 for that UWA?
While I am on the 5D2 there are certain disadvantages associated with the 5D2. I am seriously looking at the 7D for its crop factor.
As mention I don't really use third parties lens as I prefer Canon build, but who know there might be a day I may consider it. In fact when I made the purchase of 17-40mm I did consider the EF-S 10-22mm but I went with the EF lens as I forsee one day I will be going FF thus I am saving myself the trouble to sell another lens.
Actually, I view it another way - they are both complementary, and neither replaces the other. Having a 7D and 5D2 in your camera bag should cover 90% of your photography needs from the camera end. Lenses are another matter.
TS - Although the high ISO of 5D2 is enticing, when taking landscapes, you generally want to take as low ISO as possible. That's why landscape photogs carry a tripod around with them. So I don't think high ISO would help in your landscape (unless you are into special effects).
I agreed on this, both cam are for different purposes as shared by Tachyon, they are both complementary, and neither replaces the other. But as I am taking up photography as a hobby, I could only choose either one, thus my vote go with 5DMKII which is the FF for it better IQ.
Yes, I had a tripod with me whenever i go for city/landscape shooting especially for nightshooting and I always used an lower ISO which is at 100. =)
Anyway coming to this pts, so far did anyone use ISO 50 for the shoot for city/landscape as I know that the lowest it can goes. Lastly I'm not really into special effect but i do find the higher ISO cleaner on 5DMKII than 7D. But that just me.
