At first, it was see how first.

Now, it's buy first, then see how. :p

Initially I put myself down as un-decided. But now, I think I'm gonna get the A100 as soon as possible. Whenever I go out on shoots, I used to use my film gear as back-up. I've given up on film, and sold off my film SLR. No more back-up. So now I need another DSLR body

Eh, so when will they hit our stores, eh?
Most stores say no idea, look at newspaper advert for more info.
According to this site
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTE...=specs&var2 =
Expected to ship on or before July 28th, 2006
So should be month end. See I can hold til the next launch or not

Some time this month... look for it in the papers... I'm sure Sony is out to make a big splash! Although I think the marketing has been pretty muted in Singapore...

Yeah wait and see.

We'll have to wait for a few more iterations from Sony before the noise control is like the 30D... remember that Canon has had a few generations of DSLRs already and the early ones like the D60 and D30 had truly horrible high ISO quality as well... they improved dramatically with the 10D and reached the then acceptable noise level only with the 20D... and that is for a company with loads of experience in digital imaging and camera technology... KM did it with their first DSLR (discounting the earlier RD-175, etc and having comparable noise to the 20D) and that's only because they have been top R&D camera makers for many years.... Sony is new to the game and there are lots of stuff that they are just beginning to figure out are part of the equation in the DSLR market which they probably didn't know when they bought the camera division lock stock and barrel from KM... it's hardly surprising but with the excellent electronic know-how (think Playstation) and I think they may achieve the 30D's noise-free state by the time they launch another higher end DSLR next year (extremely hopefully)... if not the next generation another two years down the road map...
