The fastest lens of the world, as a cell piece built of Carl Zeiss for PR of purposes, for Contarex Bullseye - ex Barringer collection.

Carl Zeiss planar 0.7/50mm Nr.2583362 (ca.1966)

This famous lens, one of the fastest lenses ever produced, was developed for NASA the moon project. Stanley Kubrick used such an objective for the candle scenes in its film “Barry Lyndon” - ex Barringer collection.

Fastest available commercially I Think. I hear military optics could be fantastically fast.
 

lol, whats the use, the lens so tua kee....it block the whole viewfinder lorrr....how to focus liddat hah
 

I doubt these are RF coupled.. so its just zone focus ;)
 

if zone focus, then it dun make sense....coz at F0.7, the depth of field is like ... zzz
 

Well.. if its for shooting at the surface of the moon for NASA or at a faraway target (recon missions in low light) for the military, its usually at infinity more than anything else. And at infinity, even with F0.7, everything in the background would still be in focus. The large F-stop is perhaps to allow maximum light for usable shutter speeds, considering how much you could push film to in the older days.
