I don't understand how the fireworks entry managed to clinch first prize. Sure it may be a nice shot but how Uniquely Singapore is that? It's not as if Singapore is the only country in the world with fireworks displays, at least the runner up and third place entries do feature something unique about Singapore, especially Razor's shot. Wish the judges would've kept the theme of the contest in mind when selecting the first place. My thoughts... anyone else?

henceforth it will be unique - everynite there will be fireworks in singapore

Congrats Razor, nice meeting u at the ceremony. And Thanks Mocha, me awaiting eagerly.

Congrats Razor, it was my wife who went up to you to shake your hand. She was the one who commented that your shot should have made number 1.

All 3 are worthy winners. If I were to cast my vote, I would pick the fireworks one as the best also among the 3. Here's why:

1st prize: Its the first shot of its kind that I've seen in Singapore. Its not easy to compose using a fisheye lens, and that was one thing the winner did very very well with that shot. The colours of the fireworks are beautiful, and the variety of colours enhances the beauty even more. The city skyline taken from that angle is certainly unique, especially since it shows the Fullerton. I don't think you can find a similar skyline in any other city.

2nd prize: I've seen similar shots before. On this count, its not so unique already. Its also taken with a regular lens, nothing really wrong, just that it'll probably lose more points against a well-taken photo taken with fisheye, which much fewer people use. What stands out for me is the colour and composition. However, the 1st prize shot is strong in these 2 areas as well.

3rd prize: I liked this alot. I've seen shophouse shots, but this has to be among the best, if not the best. Colour and composition are good. However, I think where it loses out is in the the 'Singapore' factor. It does not show enough of Singapore. You might be able to find a similar photo in Hong Kong or Malaysia.

MMS ..... entry.... why the chess player? China ,Taiwan.... Canada? Where there is chinese there is people playing chess.

Under exposed "durian" shot from inside....... many people don't even know what is about?
Until some time..... Oh I see.....

Reddish face tourist..... over contrast yellow shirt?

Why?

Someone please enlighten me.

BTW I was shock that "he" said I ignored the votes.....

Any take on this......

Anyway Congrats to all the winners.
