underwater casing

Hello to all divers !

Need help here, I've got a EOS 5D Mark I, with 24-105 lens.

Any recommendations on an underwater casing which I can get ?

My budget is about $1000.

Oh and does anyone happen to have any experience with the
Dicapac WP-S10 SLR Waterproof Underwater Case

Just find it interesting seems good for casual use, like at the beach, when doing water sports like rafting or in heavy rains (i'm actually going cambodia in August, and I'm considering a few options on rain proofing my camera).

Curious to know if anyone has tried using it for dives ???

Thanks !

The Dicapac is rated for 5m only. Don't think anyone want to use it for diving and risk their DSLR and lens.

Don't think there is any housing for DSLR below $1k. Furthermore, you'll need strobe(s).

For the buget of $1K... a Dicapac for DSLR is your only choice. But its strictly for snorkelling or weather-proofing only. NOT for Scuba Diving. Cheapest casing I know of will most likely be from Ikelite... and costing $2000+++.... and that doesn't includes Strobe Lights, Arms for the Strobe, Syc-cord for the Strobe.... or even front port for your lens.

Yup.. bring a DSLR underwater is major cost. Even a small compact I'm trying to put together cost more den 1k.

But if its just for sports or keeping camera dry in rain, Dicapac may be usable.

As what the rest have said, you can't get a DSLR housing for less than $1k. For the matter, the set up for a compact camera like the Canon G12 would set you back by more than $1k when you add strobe and arm. You may want to consider pre-owned set up. Check out www.wetpixel.com, reefphoto.com, www.scubaboard.com.
