I see, so from what I read here you just need someone, or anyone to carry all the gears you provided, set up and push the shutter release button for you.

we had someone come here to ask for less than $2 per shot for product shoot and found photographer successfully, I'm sure your projects will make more money than this online man accessory shop, hope you will be generous enough to offer more than this.

Finally can get to post this over the PC.

I will definitely not pay $2 per shot. Personally speaking that is "abuse" if I may use that word. I want to be fair thus I hope to know what is a good going rate for someone who is responsible with my equipment and just shoot the photos as necessary.

may i propose to you-

minimum. cover costs and expenses
equipment and material cost
travel and transport cost.
food allowance to be factored in, if shooting hours include meal times.
depreciation cost of lens, linear depreciation . eg your lens 1k use five years, how much depreciation per day? apply to all your equipment.

next,opportunity cost. what i am going to say is in no way a reflection of your skill level. only you yourself know.

if you feel you are new and only ok, can't command good rate, use the hourly rate at fast food restaurant . that is the opportunity cost to you if you are working there instead of shooting .

of course if you are better, talented and good, feel free to charge engineer rate, doctor rate, lawyer rate, ceo rate.

most important you don't under charge for your skill, and let customer know your level too.

Maybe the equipments costs can roughly follow from rental companies.....
Using the equipment for 5mins, u also have to rent it for the whole day... So might as well u charge a whole day rental cost...
