Hi guys,
I ponder if this lens can be found in Singapore? Would anyone know the price as well?

I've seen many pictures taken by this lens, and the rendering of bokeh is fantastic; "Renoir-esque" background! Very different from the likes of the "ne plus ultra" Summilux prime. Some speak of its focus shift, but i think it's part of its character; again I'm not a stickler for tack sharpness.

Would anyone with experience care to chime in please?

There is one on sale at TCW. Go bring your camera and test out.

If u can wait there should be an official reseller mid next month, if u want to get new with local warranty.

Isn't Shriro, the local dealer for Zeiss? :dunno:I actually ordered a ZM21f2.8 through them as they are the one who brought in the ZF lenses.

I won't say it's underrated, but relatively unknown.

The same formula's been around for quite around, first used on the Venerable Contax Rangefinder.

I have a Russian copy and the pictures I get are superb. That would be my lens of choice for a new 50mm.

I guess underrated from skimming through Sonnar hits on Google.
The price in Singapore for one of these is roughly $1750+, and the hood is $100+

I've ordered one; let's see how that pans out

i'm still considering this sonnar and that planar.....;p
i like the sonnar's speed but not the "rounded" sharpness wide open....:bsmilie:

I've read that report before, however, I feel the pen is still not as mighty as the bokeh (from the images that I've seen)

I'll post an update when my lens arrives from NY

Planar or Lux is good. For bokeh, I think the Noct is great.

i'm not sure about that.... i would be very interested to see the bokeh of the planar, sonnar, lux and noct all shot at f2 to compare.... from what i've seen, the planar's has got a very smooth oof transition....therefore a really appealing bokeh at least for me...:)
