i never doubted the optical quality of Nikkor. all Nikkors are great!

now, let's leave it at that, if not the hard-core pro G lenses Nikonians will come after my neck. hahahahaa

yeah brother!!

threading on dangerous water for me leh! cannot anyhow say why la... i can feel the noose around my crumpling neck leh...

i use 3 main bodies of which 1 is FM2 and of course i buy lenses that can interchange between the 3 bodies... the G lenses happen to be without an Aperture ring, thus making it impossible for use on my beloved FM2.

so, u can say that i forgo all G lenses because it totally forgotten about the Aperture ring needed for my MF body.

see? i told u its subjective.

No one is gonna strangle you....you have cameras which cannot use G lenses period. and its not "subjecive" as u put it what...you can agree its a good lense....just that u can't use it....

but the optics are fine. its still Nikkor afterall!

and yes, it is still SUBJECTIVE. there are alot of Nikonians giving this G lenses the miss. for various reasons but let's not dwell into that. i can choose to buy it for my other AF bodies but i chose not to for various reasons.

if u had read one of the earlier thread i started on G lenses... u will know that it is case-sensitive. full stop.

thus, let's leave it at that. it is SUBJECTIVE and yes, the optics are great.
besides some of the G lenses are really affordable! that's a huge plus.

if u wan to know my other reasons, then let's take it off thread.
PM me.
