The lenses are placed across inside the body loh, same as those camera that do not zoom out but have 3x optical zoom.

The camera is out. Panasonic have a roadshow in Suntec City outside Carrefour & you can see it there. RRP $699.

Wow... TZ1 is here already? Are they giving any free gifts at $699? Stocks available? What colors?

Think a 512mb card & original case. Colors are silver, blue & black. I saw a 'gold' on the net but i think that color is for japan only. In US & here, it's only the 3 colors.

There is FZ-7 also.

Here some samples I take from TZ1 yesterday at the Panasonic Road show.
The power of TZ1 is the zoom + Mega OIS, but lack of manual control

#1 no zoom

#ISO test all in 10x optical zoom 100% crop no resize

pretty impressive performance for that small size, but still the typical noise problem in all pana cam :bsmilie:
but for those who do alot of low light shooting would prefer fz7 (about 1stop faster at wide aperture when full zoom) :thumbsup:

Considering its reasonably compact & has 10x optical, I'm surprised its "only" $660. Too bad the SD card's only 512MB though.

512mb is good enough for average shooting. should be able to shoot up to near 250 jpeg at fine 5MP. juz matches what a single battery charge could roughly give :thumbsup:

Wonder how much THAT would cost. Anyway, no indication about an IS on the Kodak. Also, I wonder if you can do overhead shots with the Kodak like TZ1.

Notice that at ISO 800 in hi sensitivity mode, filtration thru neat image does not produce any significant results.

Printed the original picture on 4R and just about acceptable. Would not try to venture into anything bigger than that.
