TVC for Mediacorp

does anyone know about technical specifications for mediacorp channel 5 & 8.

how many sec for color bar, time counter, black video

my TVC is 15 sec SD.

100% bars & 1khz tone -20db starts at 09:58:00:00
Slate & countdown at 09:59:50:00
2sec black at 09:59:58:00
Program starts at 10:00:00:00

CNA's spec may be start at 1st hour 01:00:00:00 if I recall correctly.

Do remember to watch your average audio and peak video levels.
My master transmission tape got rejected once after they changed to an automated audio level measurement system from Dolby.

Did so many broadcast masters for international stations and yet my first reject is from Mediacorp just because my audio mix doesn't comply to their 'standard'. Duh.....

Forgot to mention...delivery strictly in Digital Betacam or HDCAM master...CNA may still take in BetaSP. :thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing the info... been so long since I last had to touch tape... surprised that Mediacorp and CNA still do not accept tapeless digital media for their on-air system. They should. More environment friendly. Guess it is their on air cart system. Still old school.

My last broadcast install project was for PTV in Taipei. They are going totally tapeless now. How about that for protecting the environment... you can only imagine how many tapes are there in one broadcasting facility and its environment impact. If people are going to be taxed based on their carbon footprint, old school broadcasters will be filing for bankrupcy. :bsmilie:

Woo Hoo! Tapeless delivery for TVC broadcast is now being accepted by a 3rd party service provider!!! Lookout for the service in Broadcast Asia 2009. :thumbsup:

Going tapeless sounds like a good idea. I do know a few broadcasters already went tapeless. However there's 1 tiny common prob they all face, file format.

Whats the international standard for it? So far i know every tapeless system is proprietary so as production service providers, what format shud they submit?

I dunno what file format they can receive in yet...actually arranging to have a briefing session with the supplier.

Avid is DNxHD for their compression.
