Songkran Festival
Songkran is a Thai traditional New Year which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for 3 days. Songkran festival on April 13 is Maha Songkran Day or the day to mark the end of the old year, April 14 is Wan Nao which is the day after and April 15 is Wan Thaloeng Sok which the New Year begins. At this time, people from the rural areas who are working in the city usually return home to celebrate the festival.
Songkran is a Thai word which means "move" or "change place" as it is the day when the sun changes its position in the zodiac. It is also known as the "Water Festival" as people believe that water will wash away bad luck.
The Songkran tradition is recognized as a valuable custom for the Thai community, society and religions. The value for family is to provide the opportunity for family members to gather in order to express their respects to the elders by pouring scented water onto the hands of their parents and grandparents and to present them gifts including making merits to dedicate the result to their ancestors. The elders in return wish the youngsters good luck and prosperity.

This is the result of...specializing.
concentrating on the subject one like best and do best, personality is prime condition, a smiling face plus friendly approach, knowing the language is cetainly an asset, multi linguo is even better, dressing is also important, equipment is the least important.
Must have very thick skin, preparing to accept reject and no no. A built in instinct of knowing who and whom ( strangers I mean )can be apporoach will make life easier.
For a start, if one can take a lot of such pictures in your neighbourhood very well, ( meaning in Singapore ) then shoudn't be much problem when abroad.
Bcoz, Singaporean are a suspicious lot...just ask yourself..if someone is photographing you with your friend, family or your children in a public place, how would you react ? Don't even ever think of going into their condominium, private bungalow or HDB flats.
For we are always being reminded by our Govt. to report suspicious, terrorist looking charactors loitering around. Should have heard that broadcast in the trains.
now , in London, is even worse, they have a Section 44...
Forgotten to add...must have GUTS, like our MM Lee says, now you go to Thailand...there exist plenty of explosive photogenic happenings just waiting to be recorded. And I heard that...hotel stay there now is FREE, for my friend just called his friend in ChiangMai to confirm.

Anyone inspire by our friend's work can have an immediate kick start by going to their respective nearest MRT stn and try approaching those people there to pose for a couple of shots.
Try approaching for say an hour, maybe have a friend to make of notes of nos of yes and no.
The numbers of successful rate will be able to roughly gauge whether he/she can take up tungtong's footstep.
One thing viewers have to notice are... he has transform himself into the camera, and those charactors in the pictures are like interacting with him, instead a piece of machine.
These inherent ability can't be taught in any schools, colleges or academy...so that's where he shine.
One possible way to get training perhaps is to join those MLM enterprise..like Sunshine Empire or the like. They will train one how to be influential, people or stranger listen to your instruction within the shortest period of time.
Other way is to do lots of read up on human psychology, behaviour, body language etc, but nothing to do with photography.
