Hate to say this but Aluminum doesn't rust as it's a non ferrous metal. This is regardless of the annodised colour, be it silver or black. It corrodes in time regardless when exposed to salt though.

BTW i just called up cathay on wednesday they said the
308RC is $60
352RC is $65

hmm...which tripod/head should i get?
i got up to $270 to spare

Get the 168RC Ball Head. It cost the same, and is much better.

Wow...even cheaper price! CP used to quote me 352RC lower price than 308RC. Now I wonder if the S$60 is just for you or for all...u regular customer to them?

1. How high it can go? (150cm without extending center column)
2. How low it can go? (ground level, flat on ground)
3. How heavy is it? (2kg+- or 3kg+-)
4. Price?
5. Locking system
6. The feel of it in hand

My choice:
Gitzo G1224, but I end up buying Gitzo G1340 as I can only afford one tripod, and not much different in price.
