any cheap tripod to recommend?
carrying bag come included
retracted length less than 45cm
entended length around 1.3m
3 sections legs
weight less than 800g
spirit level..if got is bonus if not oso nvm
looking at a budget around $25-30

basically i am not looking for a super stable tripod which would not topple even under heavy wind etc etc
i am just looking for a tripod which is portable n cheap (these 2 factors r most impt to mi)

or anyone has a tripod which satisfy the above requirement n he wishes to sell..can leave mi a msg :)

portable + cheap + stable
*looks at the sky and wait...*

:blah:

I don't think it is possible to find a LIGHT weight tripod and yet still will not fall over strong wind.

Have - Gitzo mountaineer series - carbon fiber

If I can recall there's this camera shop quite near Carrefour (2nd level) selling a cheap and lightweight tripod at ard $35 bucks (according to the label). I think its the "Digipro" brand if I'm not mistaken. However, be cautioned that this tripod is extremely light...using it with small digicams like the Ixus 400/ A70 is fine but anything bigger will be in danger of toppling the setup...esp in strong winds. :what:

i am using A70 so that would not be a problem
thanks a lot..will pop over n have a look :)

My first tripod was from Carrefour. < $15, 1.2m (max height), < 1 kg, 4 section so fold up quite compact. Still available, but price not sure.

I still use it on my light treking trips to West Malaysia. Able to support compact cameras, light SLRs resonably well, but not very stable for my 7hi or heavier SLRs, or during strong wind.

Be warned though, the cheap plastic material around the head, chips and breaks easily when you tighten the screws too tight, and also no quick release.

thanks for the effort :)

you should think about the necessity of a quick release...
