looking to buy a new tripod for my Nikon F80 with 80-200mm lens attach to it. any recommendations?
what to look out for?

Hm second hand manfrotto 190 series tripod with a manfrotto ballhead

Is your 80-200mm the f2.8 verson?
If yes, a normal ball head might not be able to hold it properly w/o slipping.

For less than $200 get the manfrotto 190 + 141RC. Have used that combo with F80+80-200/2.8. No problem.

For less than $150, you will have to look for a 2nd hand deal.
