Tripod with wheels for mobility

Dear Bros, any idea where can i find attachment for tripod or a full tripod with wheels to push around smoothly?

I tried and got something similar for 30plus usd. But of cuz I'm not sure of how smooth it would be. Does it move on smoothly when turning and such?

I've never used any of these adapters, but other than the surface, I suppose it will depend on the quality of the bearings and casters, and whether they are properly rated for your required load.

Thanks for the info bro. If if using my Slr for events. Would u recommend this or a video rig? Saw a lot of rigs online for less than a 100. I need things that can stabilize my videos but I'm not sure what I should get... I have been doing this freehand for quite some time

Skids works best on smooth surface with no bumpy joints. Avoid plastic castors but if you can find a cheap one with plastic castors, swap out the wheels with industrial castors (urethane ones with ball bearing ) If you do not know the condition of the venue's flooring, don't bother with a skid. If you like to introduce some smooth movements, consider a slider.

Like Bamboopictures said, unless your events are in a hall/studio with nice even seamless floors, you may find that this has limited application, unless you're using it more for the mobility, not to shoot while moving. E.g., Using it only to move to reframe, then shoot. Stop recording. Move to reframe, shoot.

Depends on what kind of movement you want to achieve.

From my limited experience with rigs, you want it to be well balanced. Don't know what the $100 rigs are like, but if it's forward-heavy, your arms will suffer. Btw, shoulder rigs will still give you a 'handheld look', without the micro jittering, if that's what you want.

If you want smooth steadicam 'floating' style movement for continuous shots (e.g. while walking) check out handheld stabilizers (glidecam etc) or 3-axis brushless gimbals (DJI Ronin etc). If you don't need smooth continuous shots, but a support that lets you move around easily, and grab steady shots when you have framed your shot, check out video monopods.

Power lah... You must have a pretty killer ninja walk already if you've been doing it freehand for some time!

Ninja moves?? Haha kind of but its tiring.. That's y I'm looking for alternatives. I looked up the djironin and glidecam. They are so expensive... Is there any cheap alternatives to the branded ones?

The 'budget' versions are still at least almost US$300 with shipping — xcam sabre, monocam CF pro (from the seller recommended by cheesycam), Wieldy, Laing P4, etc. Some people have done reviews on youtube for these items, can do your research. E.g., Xcam sabre reviews / http://youtu.be/8uXFo-JVIxk / http://youtu.be/2o_fyUGDANk. You can find sub US$100 versions on ebay too, but I've read that the quality of the gimbal is lower for the cheaper price:

For even lower budget, google "DIY camera stabilizer", plenty of ideas and builds you can tinker with.

Thanks bro. I really appreciate ur time to advice on this. I've nvr used a stabilizer before and really dunno what to get... I think I will jus get a cheap one to try out first before investing in a proper one.

Many many thanks

Jus an out of topic question. I'm using a friction slider from kamerar. Would it be possible to replace the head to a ball bearing slider?

It is possible but not very practical unless you custom fabricate one. Cheaper to just buy a new slider

Hmmm I was looking through some new sliders too... Saw this konova priced around 250 usd. Is there something better for around the same price?

Konovas are pretty heavy duty but also pretty heavy. Can try varavon - very light but require some maintenance and tightening as they tend to get wobbly after a few outings.

Thanks for ur advice bro. I went to eBay and checked. Pricing looks more ex.. I think I would stick to konova for now. Seems to be a better choice
