Maximum height or Maximum height with extended centre column?
Taking for instance 190PROB, 119cm and 145cm respectively.
Do these height inclusive of the ball head as well?
Yeah, if you're 178cm tall, and I am also exactly that tall, do not hesitate to go for the Manfrotto 055. That is the most suitable model for you. The additional weight is marginal, after adding the ballhead. There are a few sub-models like colour (black, green, silver), Pro version, or some simpler version. I prefer the one with the 45 deg lever locking version, which is faster to open and close. I got mine a few months ago at $175.nsinggih said:Hi,
I haven't had a chance to go to CP, or any other shops to check out the tripods you guys recommended.
But, looking at the Manfrotto website, seems that its height is limited to 119cm (w/o center column). It maybe a little stretching for me, since I am about 178cm.
Anyone willing to share their experience on this subject?
cheers!

I'm considering getting a Manfrotto 055 too... still not sure whether to get that or the 190B.. Also have to consider what ballhead to getsmallaperture said:Yeah, if you're 178cm tall, and I am also exactly that tall, do not hesitate to go for the Manfrotto 055. justarius said:I use this with a markins m10. It's a great tripod if you are doing closeup macro work. It's infinitely flexible, and can go into all sorts of positions imaginable. It's solid and comes to a nice height (for me at 170). The leglocks might take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, setting up is very fast. It a bit hefty though, and I'm not sure it would make a good travelling tripod but I carry this with a Optech strap, so the weight isn't too bad.
Logan said:thanks justarius....that sorta clears my head.... I am getting a tripod mainly for macro shots, and am thinking of either the Gitzo 2220 or the Manfrotto 190PROB... guess its decision time soon...![]()
