Just bought Sirui N-1004 + K10X hopefully can meet my expectations.

I've noticed a lot of Sirui users. Any feedback so far?
Personally i won't get a 'fake' Gitzo

I've been a Gitzo supporter all along because of image , style and quality. the ferrari of tripods :)
Second choice if needed would be a Manfrotto.

Also using this tripod. was previously using a cheap slik pan head type tripod but didnt like it due to stability issues. my only gripe with the weifeng tripod is its weight and a bit hard to use when doing pano shots.

Cool dude!
i have the 1542T,3530LS.

serves almost all my purpose

Using:

1. Slik (aluminium tripod): Something Junior (cant remember): Been using this as my walk about tripod (weight: 1.5kg), quite stable

2. Manfrotto (Cant remember model off hand): Bought this a few years back with recommendation from someone in CS. Total weight: whooping 5kg. Very stable.

3. Sirui T1204X with G10 ball head: Bought this for travelling (weight: 0.8kg; 1kg with ball head). More stable than I expected.

@Panaromic: Initially I had doubt on Sirui as it is not a well known company. I scouted through the net looking for one carbon fibre tripod that is light and stable (well at least stable enough for a set up that is around 5KG) and I found good reviews of this. So far found it tho be good enough for all my travel needs and it is surprisingly stable. It will be put to task end of this month when I travel to Taiwan. Of course it will never be as good as Gitzo but for a fraction of price paid, it is good enough

As long as the tripod works...not concerned about whether it is 'fake' or not. Personally I don't think sirui is trying to mimic Gitzo. Some of us are after value for money. I rather drive a cheaper Nissan GTR and trash a Ferrari rather than to go for the logo.

I think the Sirui is great value. I have a old Gitzo G1227 carbon fibre - long, solid and heavy as well as a Sirui T2204 w a RRS ballhead. I use the Sirui more often than the Gitzo simply because it's lighter, good enough for a m43 system sometimes with a Nikon AF300f4 mounted.

Just got a Gitzo 1542T, should be my ultimate search for light & travel tripod. Super locking mechanism but would be better if it's a bit taller....................................:)

T2204 + K20 sirui should be good enough ...about $400 ...hhaha..am still considering this.

Wat abt Velbon 540L(tripod) with Vanguard SBH300(ballhead)?

been using a Feisol CT3301 for the last 7years.

bought it back then for S$350 and top it off with a Foba superball. total weight i think is less than 2kg.

not looking to upgrade. it is still in brilliant working condition.

Mine is a Manfrotto 190B with a Foba Superball. Got it since 2004. It had been a solid performer.

I hv sirui, paid $270 for carbon fibre! Light weight n easy for travel

Sirui N1004 and K20 ballhead. I find the weight alright. It is quite versatile but the owner is quite abusive. Hahahah

I just bought a Sirius t2204 as well but with g10 head.

Sirui SN1205 for travel & N2204, this 2 never fail me :)

No Benro love?

Using a Benro C297EX and a Markins M10 for my LF setup. Had the tripod legs for almost 3 years already. Still going strong, shown with a 9kg load below.

Not sure Gitzo would even be my second choice, since using the RRS ones. Gitzo does not even make good tripod heads. Sirui is very impressive, and I would say they are way above average.

I could not resist and have added the Arcaswiss Cube v2 to mate with the RRS tripods.

I notice some rust like a couple of mths aft buying sirui. Not sure if that's common, my vanguard did not have that. Otherwise the sirui legs are smooth and all that's fine. Just that the centre column cannot be manipulated to stick outwards which I find useful .

i have a Sirui T-2204X with G20 ballhead very stable and light....

i have the Wondlan WL7100 carbon fiber tripod. Not a well known name, they're more famous for DSLR rigs and steadicams.

So far so good, the detachable monopod leg is a god send. The price of some carbon fiber monopods the same as the entire tripod~!
