thinking of getting a GITZO GT1541T ... for my 7D and up to 70-200 is usm lens (geting it soon)
But am totally confused what ball head to buy, any recommendation .... will definitely used alot for travelling .... TIA

The best ball head I know of is Markins. I got the Q3T. You can try the 10M if your equipment is heavier. They are not cheap. But worth every penny. Try TK Photo.

In other words, the camera is mounted & shoot directly 90deg down to the object.

Quite a few to name..

Besides the metal/aluminium ones like Gitzo & Manfro, I am still using the Ries & Berlebach wooden supports for my MF/LF works..

Timber as they may be, but these supports are as old as 50 yeras of age.!!

Pretty light and nice to work with & they are kind to the hands during the cold winter months..

hi, if i'm not wrong, Benro normal series, comes with ballhead that are dont have tension. but fancier one has tension. so its quite a big difference. but of coz again if u wanna compare quality side by side. i also dunno how to judge LOL. for me fancier is more value for money. the onli thing i dunno is how long can it last and serve u.
