Tripod quick release plate

Hi, I don't seem to be able to fasten my tripod quick release plate onto my camera body to prevent it from rotating. No matter how tight I tighten it, whenever the weight of my camera (together with the lens) tilts a certain direction, it got loosen.

I don't seem to experience this previously. Is something I need to do to tighten it? there is only a single screw to hold the plate to the body. Is this normal?

when I mount my AFS 70-300 lens on the camera body and then mount the camera on the tripod to carry around, the weight of the camera and lens will swirl the quick release from the mounting since it is only mounted on a single screw. I need to remove the camera from the tripod when walking around and only mount when I want to take photo.

I was wondering, would this L bracket stabilize it?

I don't know if your quick release plate has a screw lock at the side like Accra swiss plate, if not that explains the movement and also since center of gravity is at camera tripod mount and even if you get L bracket the mounting is still at camera tripod CG ( center of gravity ). Not only that this position makes the lens front heavy and put mechanical strain on camera lens mount and may cause damage .

Solution is to shift camera CG Vs tripod head like the 2 products linked below. One has many lengths and combos like wheel support or Y support for lens but the other one had only wheel support and fixed length 180mm. Both will need Accra swiss head to mount. Choose wisely. Unfortunately I cannot find a generic tripod collar for 70-300 lens. But this solution works but remember if you tilt backs when carrying then the force and CG shift somewhat so best to carry slightly angular but vertically.Notice when mounted on the plate/ bracket the CG shifts to front of camera so less mechanical strain on camera mount.
