Travel Setup for FF

I will look at the location where I am going. With a baby now, I would normally go out with a 1D+50MP.
Oversea would mostly be
1D
50MP
16-35 MKII/35L

if for photography trip
everything.

Recently my wife invested in a M43 setup which I am testing and looks good. the lens are good, only need better body i think
GX1
12-35
panny 25 1.4
oly 45 1.8

may go with m43 with better body like the gh3

Normally for short city trip, I will only carry X100, but for more exotic place, I will take the FF + 35L + 100L + gorillapod. No point carry heavy setup unless I drive :p

Went Hokkaido for summer and took my ff and 1740 with kit 24105. Used by 1740 90% of my time as with wife, she's always by my side. Tripod of course with my trusty hahnel giga pro.

My next trip will likely use the same setup without the kit lens.

Preparing my Trip to Dublin, Ireland . I will bring 17-40 n 70-200 f4 with my ff.

How do you manage the 17-40 in indoor low light? push up ISO? use flash? slow exposure with tripod?

I am thinking of adding a wide prime like 24L or 35L for indoor light where flash and tripod are not allowed or not possible.

That's my staple travel kit as well :) Occasionally the 50mm f/1.4 if I feel like it.

My go to has been: 5D3, 16-35, 50 and 70-200 f2.8. With 2 toddlers, stroller, kids' stuff etc in the mix though, it's a very heavy kit. More of than not depending on where we were headed, the 70-200 might stay in the hotel room.

One of the posters here (I think) mentioned 16-35, 24-70 and a prime (in my case most likely the 50). I'm very intrigued by this combo as from the last trip, more than half of my shots fell in the 24-70 range. And I actually like the overlapping focal lengths so there will be less fumbling with lens changing.
