Hi all,

I'm thinking of going to a shop that sells acrylic boards to get 2pcs transparent acrylic board cut out to a specific size so as to paste photos on the side of it and have it hung up on my wall in my room.

Example: WALL -> Transparent Acrylic board -> Photo -> Transparent Acrylic board (The photos are sandwiched between the 2 pcs of acrylic boards.

However, I am thinking that 1 problem that I may face is that the photos' surface will be stuck onto the acrylic board and cause some distortion? Something like after having your photos in ur photo album for a long period of time, the clear sheet gets stuck onto the photo. Is there a way to prevent it?

Would matt photos eliminate this problem? Any suggestions are most welcome!

Thanks!

matt foto help as well as prevent extra glossiness...

most of the time is that the heat and moisture from our environment cause it to stick together after some time

Matt photo paper might help, however allow complete dryness after printing b4 putting it in. :)

Thanks guys! I'm thinking of getting the photos commercially printed (photo shops) and they would be of different sizes. Something like a collage of sorts.

Besides the shop (2nd fflr) at Bras Brasah, are there any other shops that does customisable acrylic boards?

you could get the non glare acrylic.....

Here's what I gather from the friendly people at Acrylic Centre (?), 2nd floor of Bras Brasah Complex:

1. 2 types of transparent acrylic boards, 1 being made in Taiwan (90%+ light transmission) and the other being made in China (70%+ light transmission).
2. Price, of course, would be different between the 2.
3. Max length they can do for me is a height of 244cm.
4. Matt photos are most suitable as gloss photos would bond/adhere to the acrylic board over time. Can destroy photo.

Cheers!

matt photo paper helps a little but it will still stick in long run... or if your photo is already on gloss paper then buy a bottle of matte photo spray n spray on your glossy photo. whichever that u think its cheaper, that is if u have alot of gloss photos to convert to matt.... else u can consider laminating e photo too.
