Alright so here's the story.

I'm totally new to lomography, but I've seen some pictures and I'm very interested in it.

Was considering picking it up by purchasing a Holga camera.

Can I have some information about this new hobby of mine? Like what kinda camera would be good for a newbie and such.

Oh, and what costs would I have to be prepared to pay, cause I heard films and processing could be expensive.

Holga mainly uses medium format film (120mm).
Not all labs process 120 film.

The LCA would be the best camera but it's pretty costly if you're on a budget. It takes regular 35mm films which are cheaper and all labs can process it.

Film price will depend on what film you buy.
So you need to buy film, process them and either scan or print them.

how much is the lca ar, lurgee

BBB BBB BBB

dun really need a LCA. actually, some of the folks here are getting great pics from a $30 vivitar and some expired films. :)

there are also lomo cams like supersamplers etc... available for a very reasonable price in buy/sell. it is not the camera dat matters in AP. it is how u have fun dat matters. ;p

FishEye FishEye FishEye FishEye FishEye FishEye!!

I must admit the lomo bug has gotten to me too :bsmilie:

Have been reading about it a bit. At the risk of sounding like a total newbie (which I am - when it comes to lomo :bsmilie:), may I ask which fisheye is a better option ?
Lomography Fisheye 35mm Camera
or
Lomographic Fisheye Number 2 Camera

Where did you guys buy your Lomo ? I was thinking of ordering it from amazon. Do you think its advisable ?

Any help is most appreciated :D

any of the FE will do. u probably can get more info on www.lomographyasia.com

as for buying such cameras... well, try Buy/sell. for holgas, can either get them from perly (he's a CSer with a yahoo auction account. try looking for him there) or jcryan55. jcryan also can supply 8banners pin-hole cameras. but it might be a little advance for noobies.

cheaper option - walk into cash converters, get urself one of those el-cheapo fix-focus 35mm cameras. then get some expired film (try konota at peninsular) and shoot.

i suggest you get the fisheye 2

it has a hotshoe so you can add a colorsplash flash:devil:
it has the ability to take multiple exposures :D
its also a lot more sexier, especially with the fisheye viewfinder

oh yes, you can get the fisheye 2 at Basheer at Bras Basah Complex...at $100~$110, im not so sure....

hey there.. u can get it at most PageOne bookstores.. u can also get it at Objectifs (S'pore Lomo Embassy)..

i've got the FE2 and coloursplash flash..

gotta warn u that most of your pics probably wont turn out like what u see on the lomo website..

having to develop all that film burnt a hole in my pocket

but its fun!

here's the site..http://www.objectifs.com.sg/contact.htm
