I think webmaster should seriously consolidate some sub-forum together, i'll not suggest which and which, i think some good suggestion already posted previously in this thread.
It's OK if our club got only a few sub-forum, as long as we all keep the forum alive. take a look at
http://www.nikonians.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi
the forum is need at the topic is clearcut.
I've taken a hard look at the number of sub-forums available in ClubSNAP, and honestly felt that it's just right. True, coming from the "one forum fits all" situation in HWZ's DC&P will result in a culture shock, but the vastly increased amount of sub-forums will allow people to read the forums in subjects they're interested in. Take for example, personally, I have no interest in wildlife photography and general macro. The specific categories, allows me to skip these subjects and just concentrate on the subjects that I love.
On the subject of irrelevant topics or cross postings, unfortunately, they can only be minimised, and not done away with at all. In this case, if there has not been any moderator action, there are two scenarios, a) the moderators are debating on the merits of the case or b) the moderators just hasn't seen it yet. Although we would like to be able to surf ClubSNAP, take pictures and do nothing else with our lives, unfortunately, more often than not, we'll have to work to sustain ourselves. In any case, you can also assist us by clicking on the "Report this post to moderator" to inform the moderator.
I'm a regular visitor to Nikonians.org. And the number of forums are not any lesser then ours, in fact, they far surpass ClubSNAP's forums in terms of number, yet are without the traffic.
