For the photos, I find that they are too sharp. So much so that they brought out too much undesirable details of the model. They are great shots, but if can go easy on the sharpening, they should be good portraits.

i find that the photos aren't too sharp though, but sharp and nice

Thanks bro. Actually some pics i did not apply any sharpening at all especially #14. I guess the contrast of the pic make it sharper. I use 3 to 5 lights in the bedroom. The bathroom i only use the 1 light in the 50" Apollo.

Haha Bro, i know that you don't like the blue contact lens. :bsmilie:

yeap.

Still cannot get over colored contacts. Guess never will.

I don't like the way you lit the subject, but that is a preference. Too clean and too detailed. But if that's what you wanted, did a good job doing it though.

:bsmilie:, Yeah, i wanted clean pictures for this series so i setup 4 lights to light up the whole area and the model.

I have some pictures using only 1 light. i will try to PP them and share here. Hope it is up to standard? I am still learning to use different lighting setup.

Quite nice.

I believe the sharp comes from the 17-40L but too bad it's F4. That's why not DOF is not so noticeable. What I m experiencing too.
Wanna try the 16-35L

I live the lighting. Pretty clean. But 4 lighting. Wonder what lighting?

Thanks,

Thanks bro. Most of the shots i am using the 50mm. In hotel shoot with lightings, i usually shoot at f5.6 or f6.3 depends on the amount of light. I do not see the need for shallow DOF in hotel shoot but shooting some of these are quite nice too.

Only when i want to shoot with natural light, i will use f1.4 or f1.8.

I use 2 580EXII in the Westcott 50" softbox as the main light, 1 580EXII on the 60cm softbox as the fill light, 1 yongnuo 560 on the 40" umbrella for the rim light and lastly, 1 yong nuo 580EXII with the lightsphere for the background.

The above setup is for the bedroom shots. For the bathroom shots and due to limited space, i only use the 50" westcott softbox.
