hi can tokina 11-16mm f2.8 user let know know how come they choose this lens over

sigma 10-20mm f3.5 lens?

i am trying to decide which 1 should i go for.. :D

thanks for the help

sigma = need to use bigger filter. bigger filter, means more $$$.
tokina = f/2.8, need no explanation for this.
sigma = softer images & tokina = sharper images

anyways, I sold my tokina away to get canon efs 10-22mm... it's an awesome lens.. sharper.. lesser distortion.. and a lot lighter in terms of weight. but if you are tight on budget, I'd say tokina will be a good pick. :))

think i will set on this lens jus on this 2 point..

efs 10-22 really out of budget

from sigma 10-20 3.5-5.6
to tokina 11-16 2.8
and to
sigma 10-20 3.5
the budget is getting higher and higher...
my wife will kill mi if she find out..

ok... point 1.. ya i think i like the f2.8 as well,
thinking of will i be waking around this this lens or more in the landscape only..

anyone use this lens for walk about?

I do sometimes…simply because i love this lens…it's even sharper and clearer than my 24-105L….sad to sad, the token is on my primary body much more often than my 24-105 these days….

haha. then just get tokina 11-16 f2.8. its sharpness is good enuff. but do get a slim filter cos there's a slight vignetting when it's wide open. :)

anyways, sigma is out of the league already.

Canon is not f2.8, UWA does not mean for landscape only as for me.

Cheaper is always in HK :) SG is usual more ex…Warranty is international anyways. The agent is Cathay photo so maybe check there first? I believe brand new is over $900 where as it is $800 in HK when bought mine.

Just bought this superb lens last week and really impressed with it. Here's a few sample pics...

Please note Tokina HK no longer gives international warranty for lenses bought in HK.

Is it true that hongkong tokina dont provide international warranty anymore? As i am thinking to purchase there instead?

Noted , no more $$ to fly over hk to get the lens,
Most likely getting in Singapore.

No off day must wait til next week Xian

You may want to try SLRR at Funan.

Thanks bro. Bought at MS Color (AMK Hub) for $940 with free 77mm emolux UV filter. Asked TK Photo and they quoted me $930. Reason i bought from MS was i stayed in the north, much nearer for me.
