Hi guys,

Like to check if any of u (tokina 11-16's user) face any prob at all with this lens? Esp on canon 550D

Thinking of getting a grey set for this lens...

MRSAMO, very chio! You got use any filters (besides UV)?

Kero89, was it very windy for the last shot?

No filters, I was told not to use any if possible so got these kinds of shots (a bit of yellowish hues). The third shot was me playing around with a little HDR. I'm hoping that the 116 is even more effective on a Canon 18mpl sensor over my 6mp Nikon.

Hello Pro users,

I bought a D7000 and wanting to buy this Tokina 11-16mm but I also encounter focusing problem with the camera.

On top of that many users also complain about D7000 can not accept thrid party lense. I think you can read lots of messages in Nikon forum here.

Can anyone advice me whether this lens works with D7000 and can focus properly even in LV mode. I experience with original nikon lens also have problem to focus in LV mode.

Thank you.

Hi pchengws,
I am no pro but I own both D7k and Tokina 11-16mm. They both works fine and great.
My only problem with Focusing is it is so wide and with F2.8 DOF, I could not use my untrained eyes to do manual focus. Depend fully on my D7k to do its work.

You can use hyperfocal distance focusing... then you do not have to depend on your camera or your eyes.

Your shots are very sharp. I'm having shooting, although with different lens, but always couldn't get such sharp pictures. I'm used tripod too, just don't know what went wrong.

Any tips?.

Thank you.

Few questions:

1. What tripod and head are you using?
2. How do you use your tripod? Once you mount your camera on the tripod, how do you fire off a shot?
3. How do you focus?

Was it even call grey set for Tokina? only info i gather is that CP is the authorised distributor... Wat about service centre? if no actual warranty for either side then there is no grey or local le rite?

CP runs the Tokina service center in Singapore.

And yes you still get warranty service in Singapore.

Do note that HK sets only have local HK warranty now, just in case you intend to get the lens in HK.

Getting gray or not is up to you. So far I did not have any problems whatsoever with the lens.

No lah, he wanted to take a dump :-D

That was only 1 shot, I just created different versions of it to merge in the HDR software I was trying.
